The Heartland Wellbeing Institute  was created from the desire and intention to offer experiences and opportunities that support wellbeing. To make the time to remember who we are, why we are here and what we want to do about it.  To offer practical and simple strategies to engage in what is important to you, what brings you joy and how to incorporate these activities into your daily life.

Is it a walk in nature, listening to the wind swirl through leaves of a tree or learning something new?  Do you enjoy writing, reading, yoga, meditation - and want a community to have creative conversations and experiences?

Mindfulness...

What is mindfulness?  Jon Kabat-Zinn is one of the leading experts and works with the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness.  Dr. Kabat-Zinn's working definition is: "Paying attention on purpose in the present moment as if your life depends on it, non-judgementally."

The basis of mindfulness comes down to intention and awareness in the here and now.   Making choices and actions based on informed and reflective decisions.

Mindfulness looks different for each person.  Contact me if I can support your journey to create your practice.

Wellbeing Experiences...

There has been a lot of transitions, changes and uncertainty in the last year.  I continue to ponder, reflect and strategize on how to be of service and offer opportunities and experiences.

As with many businesses, the Heartland Wellbeing Institute is adapting and transitioning on how  it engages  with people  during this COVID-19 era and beyond.   My intention as I move forward is to offer a hybrid of options.   Some will be in person, as restrictions allow, and other will be a virtual experience.  I continue to focus on making all opportunities engaging, interactive, relevant and practical.  Watch Wellbeing  Experiences for details .

March Pondering...

March has arrived and it is officially spring as of March 20th.  Was taking a stroll in my yard and discovered this tiny, delicate plant with it’s petite and vibrant flowers at my home this.  What a gift!  It has been a long, cold, snowy winter in Iowa and it seemed like the snow was never going to melt away.  And then this little plant  pushed through the snow and dead leaves and made its appreance.  Such gratitude I felt when I found it.  Go to Current Ponderings  for entire pondering.
