January Pondering...

January creates for me a sense of reflection and a ‘need for direction’ as the new year begins.  It is not about resolutions - but about what is working, what is not working, what I wish I had time for and what do I want to do about it. 

A time to pause, get off that fast moving train of life and decide – with intention and attention – how do I want to move forward and make time for my wellbeing.

Mindfulness...

What is mindfulness?  Jon Kabat-Zinn is one of the leading experts and works with the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness.  Dr. Kabat-Zinn's working definition is: "Paying attention on purpose in the present moment as if your life depends on it, non-judgementally." 

The basis of mindfulness comes down to intention and awareness in the here and now.   Making choices and actions based on informed and reflective decisions.

The Heartland Wellbeing Institute ​ was created from the desire and intention to offer experiences and opportunities that support wellbeing. To make the time to remember who we are, why we are here and what we want to do about it.  To offer practical and simple strategies to engage in what is important to you, what brings you joy and how to incorporate these activities into your daily life.

​Is it a walk in nature, listening to the wind swirl through leaves of a tree or learning something new?  Do you enjoy writing, reading, yoga, meditation - and want a community to have creative conversations and experiences? ​

Wellbeing Experiences...

There has been a lot of transitions, changes and uncertainty in 2020.  As 2021 begins, I have been spending time pondering, reflecting and wondering about the best way to be of service and to offer opportunities and experiences.  

As with many businesses, the Heartland Wellbeing Institute is adapting and transitioning on how  it engages  with people  during this COVID-19 era and beyond.  

I am currently in the process of creating workshops and retreats to be virtual experiences that are engaging and interactive.     Details to be released soon.
